I am wrong, I messed up, and “it was my error” are noble words. It takes an honorable human being to admit when they are wrong because it establishes that fact that they are not afraid of the truth as well as displaying that they are not afraid to take risk even if the results my be faulty. You will find this lack of honor and accountability in your day to day without fail. It is plaguing office buildings, schools, and relationships. It is a social boo boo that needs to be corrected. Admitting mistakes should be followed with a level of respect rather than behind the back snickering. Students should be encouraged to raise their hands and be congratulated for mistakes not ridicule, and relationships should be accepting of positive corrections. Why do people hate to be wrong? Is it because they hate to admit it? If we removed the taboo of being wrong with being stupid we the world could make this place a better place to live. Our darkest demons are hidden behind the notions of people not wanting to admit they were wrong, so they keep plowing in the wrong direction hoping to make things right. It is clear by the current state of affairs on this planet that that philosophy is simply wrong.
