I am thankful that there were so many people that were not afraid to be free. I am thankful to those who lost their life to stand for something in life. I am thankful that in 2008 Barack Obama can run for presidency when forty years ago he would not have been able to ride in the front of a bus! I am thankful that someone believed that they could foster change with kindness and persistence, even in the face of violence and hatered.
